Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Unity Kitchen

Jamie Grainger-Smith worked alongside the London Legacy Development Corporation (formerly Olympic Park Legacy Company) as a Food & Beverage Consultant on the strategy and legacy of the Olympic Park for AFTER the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Jamie helped the social enterprise food business branch of T.E.D Member - The Camden Society, to win their bid to open Unity Kitchen Café in the North Park hub of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Unity Kitchen began as a series of coffee outlets and has recently begun to expand, having won contracts providing catering at a number of one off events, and a long term contract providing catering facilities at the offices of Southwark Council. A not for profit social enterprise, Unity Kitchen uses the money it makes from trade, to offer training to disabled people and people with learning difficulties, with the ultimate goal of providing long term employment, and as such integration into the world of work, empowerment within society and financial independence.
