Shortlisted in The Foodism 100

We are thrilled to have been shortlisted in the Foodism 100 - in the Positive Change Hero category (which is sponsored by Karma Cola).

The list recognises the capital’s top 100 venues and businesses effecting positive change within the food and drink industry. It celebrates businesses that employ sustainable, ethical and social initiatives from sourcing, staffing, food waste, seasonality, social enterprising, charitable work and more. Ten category winners will be announced at an exclusive event on 25 January.

Foodism editor Jon Hawkins says of the awards: “We’re really passionate about sustainability, not just in an environmental sense, and the Foodism 100 is about acknowledging everyone in the industry doing their bit to effect positive change – from bars and restaurants with sustainable initiatives to social enterprises giving people a much-needed second chance, and the street-food traders changing the way fast food impacts the environment.”

Square Up Media’s CEO, Tim Slee, says: “Every year Foodism releases a sustainability special – an entire issue dedicated to telling the stories of people doing great things in sustainable food and social enterprise in London and beyond. These awards are the next step in our mission to help inspire our readers, and the food and drink industry, to make the world more a more sustainable place and we’re really encouraging Londoners to support these businesses and come along to the awards ceremony later this month.”

The Foodism 100 is split across ten categories, including best casual restaurant, best fine-dining restaurant, best bar, best pub, best cafe, best pop-up or residency, best street-food trader, best food market, best social enterprise, and Positive Change Hero. The ten category winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted at Borough Market on 25 January and will be featured in Foodism in print, online and via social media throughout the year.
